Hello, I am trying to ensure that my BIOS is up-to-date - the HP support site says that I can do this using the HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool. I installed it on a USB and was able to enter the tool from the F2 Hardware Diagnostics menu, but do not see an option for "Firmware" or "BIOS" management. Should I assume from this that my BIOS is up to date?

Hi @aporterwinkel,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The absence of a "Firmware" or "BIOS Management" option in the HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool does not necessarily mean that your BIOS is up to date. It could indicate that the specific version of the UEFI Diagnostics you are using does not include that option, or it could be configured differently for your model.
Here are some steps to ensure your BIOS is up-to-date.
Check the Current BIOS Version:
- Restart your HP ENVY Desktop and enter the BIOS by pressing the F10 key repeatedly as the system boots up.
- Once in the BIOS menu, locate the BIOS Version/Date (usually on the Main or System Information tab).
Compare with Latest BIOS:
- Go to the official HP Support website, enter your system’s model or serial number, and navigate to the Drivers & Downloads section.
- Check if a newer BIOS version is available compared to your current version.
Update the BIOS (if necessary):
- If a newer version is available, download it and follow the instructions provided on the website for updating the BIOS.
- If you're unable to find the option in the UEFI Diagnostics, you can try the HP Support Assistant software or use the Windows-based BIOS update method if available.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
