HP ProDesk 600 G4 Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Afternoon

I work in IT and we have had more than 10 of our HP machines crash after the latest windows update. We expect more to have the issue once they are restarted.

Machine model : HP ProDesk 600 G4 Small Form Factor PC

BSOD : INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

WIndows update believed to have caused the issue : KB4528760

Anyone else having similar issues with their HP machine?

@MarkG8E

That's really ODD -- because this KB was only a minor security update, both for builds 18362 and 18363 -- so those should not have posed any serious issues.

You COULD check this section of the community Windows 10 forum -- as it deals with individual Windows Updates as they come out:  https://www.tenforums.com/windows-10-news/

Other than that, you probably have no choice other than to try to back out that update.  This is certainly NOT the first time that MS has pushed out a Win10 Windows Update that caused problems.

Thanks for the reply.

We tried multiple ways to uninstall the update via command prompt but had no luck. Our only option was to reimage those computers ( 15 of them ).

We think it was to do with one of our SOE images we used to install on those HP machines as no one else outside our environment had reported the issue.

Moving forward we will create a new image with the latest updates.
