Slimline 270-p033w

When I boot up my HP Slimline 270-p033w I hear 3 long beeps and then 2 quicker shorter beeps. Not sure if it's a hard drive issue or what? I opened up the pc to see if it's dusty and it looks practically brand new. I don't have the windows installation disk, because my dad gave me the computer and asked me if I could try to fix it for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

A 3:2 BIOS error code is a memory problem.

Remove memory module(s). Reseat the module(s).

Try to start the PC using one stick of memory in each memory slot if you have more than one memory module installed in the motherboard to find the bad memory module.

You may have to replace the memory module or memory modules if the PC will not POST using either memory module.

Hi and thanks for the response! I only have 1 memory stick, so I'm going to order a new 1 and see if this fixes the problem. Again thanks for your help and I'll reply after I order the memory and install it.

Hi Paragone,

You're very welcome.

Make sure you get compatible memory. Incompatible memory will only make diagnosis more difficult.

I recommend HP memory at HP Part Surfer (Link) , if available, or Crucial Memory (Link).

Regards
