My HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1020 desktop can't be rebooted. I ordered Windows 7 64 bit Recovery Kit QE413AV For HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop PC Model Number s5-1020 from Computer Surgeons. I put the disk 1 into the PC DVD driver, and select CDDVDW boot in BIOS menu. The computer started "Windows is loading files" and the status bar was extended gradually. When it finished the loading, "Microsoft Corporation" and the status bar (empty, not started) were showed on the screen without any error. Then, the computer kept silence forever. Obviously, it stopped somewhere in abnormal. Please help me. Thanks a lot!

Eight years is way beyond the expected service life of a desktop PC.
Motherboard electronic components develop issues and stop working as expected.
You really shouldn't invest any money in it and should source a replacement. It's currently worth less than the cost of the recovery disk set. Sorry to have to give you such bad news, but if you need a PC, now you know now.

Is your HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1020 from the 2011 model year?
Does it have the original hard disk installed?
What was the reason you decided to use a recovery disk set?

Thanks, Erico. I'm not sure which year model. It might be, probably. Everything on the machine is original part, including the hard drive. The reason I did so is that the machine can't be rebooted. It always stops when Windows starts without any error message.
