HP Pavilion Model #: 27-n250na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been having problems for a long time with this All-in-one.

It has always been slow/sluggish/had performance issues.

I managed to upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB but it still has these niggly issues.

on starup I have close down apps in the system tray I know I don't need to use.

I also launch task manager to close and apps I don't want running.

I update my drivers regularly using Windows, Driver Booster & Intel Driver Support Assistant - So I do not think it's a driver issue as they say they are all up to date.

Normally I only have Google Chrome and Microsoft Outlook open and I the PC freezes for maybe 30-60 seconds then comes back to life. I can work again for a while and all is fine.

Then another freeze and it comes back.

Device Manager shows no issues with any of my devices.

I can't switch to task manager when it freezes to see if it's an application or service that is causing it to freeze.

Today I looked in Eventvwr and can see lots of entries by "WHEA-Logger" (see one example below)

Component: PCI Express Root Port
Error Source: Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express)

Primary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x1C:0x0
Secondary Bus:Device:Function: 0x0:0x0:0x0
Primary Device Name:PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A115&SUBSYS_2B45103C&REV_F1
Secondary Device Name:

Thanks in advance, Ian

@Ian_G_Phillips Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Win 10 Freezes for 30 seconds then ok for a while then freezes again.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

First, let's start with performing a hard reset on the PC to release any excessive static/power that could have caused the issue.

Turn off the computer.

Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.

Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

Second, you can check if there is Bios update available for your PC, here is the link to download.

Performing a test on the Hard drive as well as on the Memory from the Hardware diagnostics:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once for System Diagnostics.
4) Go to Component test.
5) Run extensive Memory and Hard Drive test.

Depending on the test results, If the test passes then I would suggest you perform a complete system recovery.

Note: Recovery will wipe off everything from the computer. If you have anything important get in touch with some local stores to get your data backed up.
