Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The automatic updating in Win 10 64 BIT OS is causing software issues and LOCKING OUT following re-start required after each update!

It appears that in Win 10 you cannot STOP updates; you cannot sellect which updates you want or do not want!

So far since A[pril 2018, every win 10 update has required me to re-install ALL my Major Software such as Adobe, Corel, Serif, and even Microsft Office 2016!

Can UPDATES BE SWITCHED OFF? Help please.

Hi

More a Microsoft question than a HP one...

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/turn-off-windows-update-in-windows-10

Part of it says...

Microsoft has explained that it will provide updates in two distinct methods for its two distinct types of clients.

First are the Home users who will not have the option to defer upgrades. The updates will download and install even if they are working on something, making the computer slow in some cases. The PC, however, would restart only if you are not doing anything or it would restart at the scheduled time if you have set one. Where a reboot would be required, the user might have to save his or her work and then reboot before going back to the work he or she was doing. Of course, Windows 10 will let you defer restart, but that is not enough because a download in the background might slow down your browsing in some cases.
