getting blue screen saying fix computer...f11 says I can do a system recovery but will I lose my personal files? Using the command prompt does not work.

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

Windows and HP both give blue screens when there is a problem.

 

A "F11" option on the blue screen you are seeing suggests you have a HP error screen.

 

I would shut down and restart the PC. Tap 'ESC". Then select "F2".

 

Run HP Diagnostics.
