Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When I try to start my computer I get a system recovery screen - black with white writing.  When I perform recovery it defalts to a blue screen with system recovery options and an error message of "system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002).  When I run an F11 diagnostic I get an error code on the drive of "BIOHD-8"

Hi

New Member?

I suggest that it may be a failed Hard Drive.

 may help out a little.

System Recovery options

You should attempt a System Recovery in the following order:

1.Through the hard disk drive, from the Windows 7 Start menu.

2.Through the hard disk drive, by pressing F11 on the keyboard during system startup.

3.Through recovery media that you create.

4.Through recovery discs purchased from HP Support.
