Won’t boot past splash screen can’t get into UEFI

HP Recommended
Pavilion HPE-570t CTO desktop

I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 just fine, worked well.  Tried to add a known and working SSD, was detected fine on old hard drive and by boot up installation USB.   Installed windows 10 onto SSD, seemed to work, said needed to restart.  Upon restart, UEFI booted into old hard drive.   Restarted, hit esc to enter UEFI, changed boot order and restarted.  Will show splash screen and freeze there, unless I hit esc to try to enter UEFI again.  If I do that, shows black screen listing computer stats that again shows hit esc to enter Startup menu (this is normal), but then it freezes there and won’t go any further.  Can’t boot, can’t enter UEFI.   Tried disconnecting power, holding power button, tried disconnecting drives, individually and both and all peripherals, tried windows B holding while starting, nothing worked.

@Mclai96,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows after installing the SSD.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you able to boot to Windows with the old hard drive? If yes, then I recommend you remove the SSD and then update the BIOS from the below link and then install the SSD and check.

If the computer is not booting with the hard drive, then follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
