Linux

I am going to install Linux Mint 18.3 xfce 32bit.  I chose that one because Mint has a reasonably big following and the xfce is supposed to be less resouce intensive (helpful, since this is an old system).

However, it seems like I need to know whether the computer uses legacy bios or UEFI Bios.  I am not sure if legacy bios is the right term but to clarify I think I am just talking about the bios that was around right before UEFI.

If it helps at all, I bought the computer in 2007.

Hi:

Your PC has a legacy BIOS.

Intel desktop PC's did not get UEFI BIOS' until the models with the series 6 chipsets and 2nd generation core processors came out a few years after your model was released to market.
