after a while sometime 1 to 2 hours after starting and using my computer, it will slow down

HP Pavilion 17-inch Displays
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

have a pavillion when turned on works fast for about 1 to 2 hours then it starts lagging and freezes for a second or two, and contiues this  some times slower than others, if i restart then the comp will be fine for a while again then i have to do this process again, it started this about 2 months ago.     model 22-A113W     any help is appreciated, use details because im not really good with comps.

The first thing that you should do is clean your computer thoroughly.  This can remove any dust that is causing it to over-heat which will cause the symptoms that you are experiencing.  If this doesn't help, here is a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem.

sorry so long to get back, comp is clean and fan is working, does smell hot sometimes

Any smell is not good.  There is one fan inside the power-supply, and one fan on top of the processor.  Check both fans.

 

Also, Google-search for "download free SPECCY".

Download, install, and run this software, to display the temperatures:

* motherboard

* processor

* disk-drive

and the speed (RPM) of each fan.

 

Tell us the values.
