this problem happened a lot and i am getting tired to deal with it everytime so i need a final solution, i would be using my laptop normally then leaving it open for about an hour, less or more. when i am back the device would be in the sleeping mode and seems normal until i turned it on like always, most of the time it would turn on normally, but the problem is when it's not! it would start the fan the power and the caps light would be toggled on and off but the device wont turned on, i tried to connected to an external display but it shows 'no signal', so i would have to shut it shown and turn it on again which affect the files and the stuff am working on. thankfully it turned on again but why is this even happening it's frustrating!
i tried the symptom test- system test and everything seems fine.

@LLE3, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating this issue can be, especially when it disrupts your work. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the black screen issue on your HP Victus 16-e1000 laptop:
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Ensure your BIOS and all drivers are up to date. You can download the latest updates from the HP Support website.
Check Power Settings:
- Sometimes, power settings can cause issues when waking from sleep. Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep and adjust the settings to prevent the laptop from going into sleep mode too quickly.
Disable Fast Startup:
- Fast Startup can sometimes cause issues. To disable it, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable and uncheck Turn on fast startup.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices, unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery (if possible). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the power adapter and battery, then try to turn on the laptop.
Check for Overheating:
- Ensure your laptop is not overheating. Clean the vents and fans to prevent dust buildup, which can cause overheating and related issues.
Run System File Checker and DISM:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- These commands will check for and repair any corrupted system files
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
