desktop won't power p

Up pavilion power desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

I can' get my pavilion desktop to start up.  I've gone through the virtual assistant trouble shooting and ruled out the obvious of sockets and cables etc. But can' get any support from up over the weekend.  The machine is only 2 months old and was working fine last night. But there is no sign of life today. Has anyone experienced anything similar and know how to resolve.?

Thanks

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the desktop. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉

Turn off the desktop. Un-plug the power cable from the back of the tower. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Connect the power cable back and try to turn it on.

If this doesn't help, then I'd request you to contact HP's phone support team for further assistance.

1) Click on this link - https://hp.care/2moMFSc

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately. If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

Best regards,

Barachiel

Hi Barachiel

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I've tried your advice and unfortunately, there is no change.  The pc still wont power on.

I've reached out to support and they want to take the pc back for repair.  However, they first said to back up the data as they will do a factory reset on it.  So I'm not sure how to do that given that the pc wont start up.

I've looked on line and there are adapters that can plug the hard drve into the USB port on another device, but I'd have to remove the hard drive for that to work and am worred that this will invalidate the Warranty.  Have you any advice on how to tackle this?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

Yes, you could connect the hard drive of this notebook to another computer and try backing up the data ( Not to worry, it won't void the warranty. ) however, i would suggest you to contact any local tech t do it for you, If you are not comfortable in doing it. 🙂

Once done, Please contact the phone support team for further assistance.

best regards,

Barachiel
