lost hard drive.

Hi,

 

The drive is failing or has failed.

 

You have to replace the bad drive.

 

You will have to reinstall the operating system unless you have created operating system image (disk) backups. You can reimage the new drive if you have disk backups.

 

You will lose data without data backups.

 

You might be able to recover data by connecting the failing HDD to a different PC.
