Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to fix an issue when booting my pc. There is plenty of disk activity as the pc boots up but it never actually displays the logon screen. Instead it goes into sleep mode. However, if I then click the mouse it wakes up the pc and the logon screen displays.

I'd like to to know how to speed it up and display the login screen without the lengthy delay and having to let it go into sleep mode as it's a pain in the proverbial.

Thank you for any help.

@KCRCR Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with the boot.

I read somewhere else this is by design because Windows Hello is very quick and this to avoid you unlocking the computer directly after locking it.

That said, here's what you need to do, to turn on the device faster:

  1. Search for and open “Power options” in the Start Menu.
  2. Click “Choose what the power buttons do” on the left side of the window.
  3. Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable.”
  4. Under “Shutdown settings” make sure “Turn on fast startup” is enabled.

Keep us posted,
