hp Envy phoenix 810-272d :511 cpu fan not detected

HP Recommended
HP Envy Phoenix 810-272d
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi everyone

I have one unit HP envy phoenix with 511 cpu fan not detected error, press f1 to boot.

I checked the fan and its working. I check the bios at thermal section and the cpu fan sensor says 0 rpm but the fan is spinning. I also cleaned the fan, and recently I have replaced the fan with the same stock model but I still have the same error everytime I boot up the system. Any idea for this problem?

Hoping for your quick reply

Thanks in advance.

cheerss.

Hey there! @Charlesss, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you are getting an error: 511-CPU fan not detected on your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

What is BIOS version on your PC?

As you mentioned you are getting 511 CPU fan not detected an error on your PC.

You can use a can of compressed air to clean out all of the dust from all fans in the PC.  With the side panel off, power on the PC and again observe the fan rotational speed.  What do you see? slow, medium or high rotational speeds?

Open up the RUN Windows and enter: MSINFO32

Try restoring the BIOS to default on your PC and check if it helps.

Turn on your PC keep tapping the F10 key, you will boot into BIOS.

From the main or file menu select restore defaults.

Select F10 to save changes and exit.

Refer this article to know more information about CPU Fan Failed errors.

Also, try updating the BIOS on your PC and check it helps.

Update the drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.
