@mak63, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To assist you better, what is the exact model of HP PC are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Try connecting an external monitor and check if that works.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

@mak63

Thank you for the information. Did you try connecting an alternate monitor and check if the issue persists?

Check the connections to the monitor.

Perform a Power reset

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards.

  3. Disconnect the AC power adapter.

  4. Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the AC power adapter.

  6. Turn on the computer.

Resetting the BIOS when the computer screen is blank

NOTE: You can perform these steps even if the computer screen or monitor is blank.
  1. Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key for eight seconds.

  2. Press the Down arrow three times.

  3. Press the Enter key two times.

  4. The computer restarts.
