Hi I have a HP21 Slate (Android). Its not booting up. I see the HP logo upon start and it stays there for ever. I tried to do a recovery but no luck. On the HP support page, the firmware is not available for download. Kindly help

@Vinpra -- you probably do NOT have a "firmware" issue. Rather, I think that your disk-drive is failing.
If your device is a desktop or laptop computer, then restart your computer, and launch the HP Hardware Diagnostics, and run the "short DST" test of the disk-drive. Note that "short" means about one minute, and "DST" is "disk-drive status test". If the result of the DST is "fail", do NOT run the "long DST" -- you'll get the same "fail" message, and you may use up all the residual "health" of the disk-drive, making it impossible to copy any files from it.
Short answer: replace the disk-drive, and reinstall an operating system.
For a desktop/laptop computer, connect the current disk-drive as a "secondary" disk-drive, to see if you can copy files from it, onto the new disk-rive.
Consider the opportunity to replace your current "spinning" disk-drive by a SSD (Solid State Device) which will be much faster.

The Slate 21 series is part of HP's Android experiment. It does not have a hard drive, nor does it run Windows.
It cannot run the tests you suggest. Unfortunately, the user does have a firmware issue, and since HP abandoned their Android section a long time ago, the OP is out of luck.
I'm sure you had a good run with the Slate 21, but the version of Android it runs is not going to be supported very soon. I'd suggest looking for a new device. 😞
