i HAVE AN ENCRYPTED HARD DRIVE. IN DEC. MY SYSTEM LOCKED UP AS IF ALL DATA WAS GONE FROM HARD DRIVE.

SO I WAS GETTING NOTHING AT STARTUP EXCEPT HP AND THAT LITTLE CIRCLE OF DOTS. IM GETTING THE DOWNLOAD FROM ALERTSEC TO A FLASHDRIVE.  BUT I WILL NEED A BOOT DEVICE ON A FLASH DRIVE FOR THE HP PC.  GIVEN THE HD IS LOCKED, HOW DO I GET THIS ?   FROM A SIMILAR PC.  IM NOW USING A HP 15 WITH 1 TB HD SSD AND 8GB MEMORY. PERHAPS MY WIFE'S PC (SIMILAR TO MY LOCKED ONE MIGHT WORK) ????

You will need the USB HP Recovery Media to reload the OS. If you do not have the Recovery Media, please contact HP Support to order one

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
