i got a cpu upgrade its the same am4 but the motherboard just wont boot with the chip but with my  older ryzen 3 it does and help?

Hi

 

If you did not damage the new CPU or socket when installing the CPU in the MB then you would probably need a HP BIOS update to support the newer CPU.

 

Check your PC's HP Driver Support download site for a BIOS update. Or provide the product number so someone in this Forum can check this for you.

 

HP may not provide this CPU upgrade option in any available BIOS updates for your PC. You may have to return the CPU for a refund.
