HP ENVY All-in-One - 32-a1055
Microsoft Windows 11

once my computer shuts down the monitor, it routinely (like 50% of the time) will not wake up after hitting anything on the keyboard or moving the mouse.  the only thing to do is to do a hard reset with the master power button.  im open to suggestions...

It is probably not going to sleep and is stuck trying.

Look in the event viewer for warning such as "application xxxx has vetoed shutdown" or something like that

Try changing power plan to hibernate

This system came with windows 10

There is a bios update May 8, 2022

You might try that update if your BIOS ROM SSID is 86C7

It is always dangerous to update bios.  Do not update if SSID is different
