Hi @blitx,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering an issue with the hp 25l Omen won't boot into Windows after turning off your computer when the d drive disappears with your HP Omen 25L Desktop PC. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

  • Check Physical Connections: Ensure that all cables and connections related to your hard drive (both power and data cables) are securely attached.
  • BIOS Settings: Enter your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, Del, or Esc during bootup) and see if your D drive is recognized there. If not, it could indicate a hardware issue.
  • Boot from USB: As you mentioned, try booting from a Windows installation USB drive. You can create one using another computer and Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. Booting from the USB, you can attempt to repair your Windows installation or perform a clean install if necessary.
  • Check Disk Management: If your D drive isn't visible in Windows Explorer, open Disk Management (you can search for it in the Start menu). If the drive appears there, it might need to be initialized or assigned a drive letter.
  • Data Recovery: If you need to recover important files from your D drive, you might consider using data recovery software. There are many options available online, but be cautious and ensure you're using reputable software.
