HP Compaq LA2205wg

Greetings.

I have a HP Compaq LA2205wg, windows x64.

A few weeks ago, I came across a problem where I would try to turn my computer on, it would boot but the monitor wouldn't show anything and the monitor light remained orange. I tried to disconnect and reconnect the cord that connects the monitor to the CPU, but that only made it worse. Now, if I try to boot my PC, a red light on my CPU beeps 5 times, pauses for 3 seconds, then beeps again.

I'm not sure what to do.

Hi:

it is unlikely that there is anything wrong with the monitor.

The code indicates that your PC has a memory problem of some kind.

See the troubleshooting guide, appendix A, page 58 for how to troubleshoot the 5-beep code error.
