replace hard drive

Is the current disk-drive "slightly" working?

If so, it might be possible to use "disk-cloning" software to copy, block-by-block, everything from "old" to "new".

Done.

Or, ..........................

Since your computer was running Windows 10, you have a "digital license" to re-install Windows 10, at any time, at no cost to you.

On another computer, see: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

to download "Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators Update".

Write the download to one DVD-recordable disk, or to an 8GB USB memory-stick.

Install the newly-purchased disk-drive into your computer.

Boot your computer from the DVD/memory-stick, and reinstall Windows.

When asked for a 25-character product-key, click "I do not have one".

The first time that the "fresh" install connects to the Internet, it will leverage your digital entitlement, and "activate".

Run Windows Update -- do not try to use your computer while it is downloading/updating.

What model-number is your computer?

> Where to buy?

Remove the current disk-drive, and take it to any computer-store.

They will match the physical dimensions.

Probably, the "smallest" disk-drive they have for sale will have a larger capacity than your current disk-drive.
