HP Z4 G4 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After working perfectly since I purchased it in October, 2021, my HP Z4 G4 workstation windows 10 no longer will boot. Immediately after turning it on a couple of days ago, the monitor read “Your PC did not start correctly” and “Automatic Repair” started but did not succeed, so a restart was suggested, but the PC still would not boot.

I then tried to do a factory reset, but that stuck for a couple of hours at 81%. “Advance Options” gave several suggestions for reset but all require a password. Neither the PC pin nor my Microsoft PW worked, the reset could not be done that way.

Safe Mode might have helped but could not be accessed no matter what usually successful process was tried.

Interesting that F2 still works for testing components, and the System Extensive test passed all measures, including Hard Drive, Processor, and Memory. I also was able to update the BIOS, but none of these actions allowed me to boot the PC.

I was almost convinced that the problem was the OS. So yesterday Microsoft provided me with a Windows 10 installation flash drive. I was able to alter the boot order to USB first, but the PC refused to accept the installation.

Things have deteriorated as I tried various attempts to solve the boot problem, and most of what I was able to try a couple of days ago are no longer available. Now, accept being still able to access many of the F keys, when I turn the PC on, it just loops by itself from ‘on’ to ‘off’ to ‘on’ to ‘off’, etc.…………….. continually, until I force a shut down.

Suggestions and/or comments would be greatly appreciated.
