upgrade cpu in s5704y to phenom ii X 4 955, computer says cpu not supported

s5704y
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to upgrade the cpu in my HP Pavilion Slimline s5704y.  I picked a cpu that is listed as an upgrade by HP (phenom ii X 4 955).  I turned the computer on and I get a message that the cpu is not supported.   I looked to see if I could upgrade bios (followed the hp instructions to search for bios), and no bios update was listed).  The motherboard is a H-Apricot-RS780L-uATX (Apricot) (AM3 + socket).  Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

"Black" edition AMD processors typically will not work in HP consumer level PCs.  Additionally, the TDP for the HP s5704y mothrboard is limited to 95 watts and the X4 955 is 125 watts.
