Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a desktop with Intel Core i5, 4th generation, and 2b2c 1.01  HP motherboard. I would like to upgrade my CPU. I was wondering what is the maximum CPU that my motherboard can support.

Can I go with 10th generation Core i5 or 4th generation Core i 7 or even higher?

Thanks.

Thank you for the additional information, @Delnaaz!

Here is the Product Specifications page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-500-500-desktop-pc-series/7477729/model/7519748/doc...

If you look at the section titled "Processor/Processor upgrade information" there is a list of compatible processors.  They have been fully tested to assure they are compatible with the motherboard.  The maximum processor that is compatible is the i7-4790T: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/80809/intel-core-i7-4790t-processor-8m-cache-up...

It should work without any other changes to the computer.  The information in the link that I provided from Intel states that it has been discontinued, however.  You should be able to find one on ebay or other website.

@Delnaaz , welcome to the Community.

What is the Product Number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. You can find the Product Number at the bottom of the page when you open HP Support Assistant.
