I am having issues finding drivers for the following 2 items.

PCI Simple Communications Controller (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E14&SUBSYS_3647103C&REV_03\3&B1BFB68&1&18)

Hi:

You need these XP drivers for those devices...

This package contains the Intel Active Client Manager Host Embedded Controller Interface (HECI) device driver for the supported desktop models and operating systems.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45411.exe

This package contains the Intel Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) for the supported desktop models and operating systems. This software is part of the Intel Digital Office Initiative.

I tried the SP45411 but it gives me " An Unknown Error has occurred.  Setup will Exit"

Try manually installing the driver.

Go to the device manager, click on the PCI Simple Communications Controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab, click on update driver.

I haven't manually installed a driver in XP in years, so use this guide as a reference...

Manually Install a Graphics Driver in Windows XP* (intel.com)

When you get to the part where you are at the Have Disk options, browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp45411.

Then open the MEI folder and choose the setup information file in the folder and see if the driver installs that way.

I know it is the correct driver because here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file that shows driver support for the first hardware ID you posted...

It looked like is was going to work. But then said Cannot Install this Hardware. The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.

I once saw a related issue about that many years ago.

See if the info at the link below is of help to you...

I have the drivers updated on everything now. Thanks Paul!  I had to actually delete every instance of HECI and MEI from the registry, then reboot and update the drivers and everything installed as it should.

You're very welcome.
