860 EVO SSD added to motherboard - how do I make it the boot drive?

Pavilion 690-0067c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’ve added the Samsung 860 EVO SATA M.2 SSD to the sunflower motherboard. I see the drive in the bios as being connected to SATA3, but do not see it as a drive in Windows. I have made a recovery image on a USB drive.  How do I get that image to the SSD?

did you use disk manager and partition the new SSD?

untill the new SSD is pertitioned and formated, it will not show up in windows

once the SSD shows in windows, power down disconnect the original boot drive, power on and enter the bios the ssd should show just the new SSD if so , insert the recovery usb key into a usb port and now reboot.

the recovery program should auto run and find the SSD and then begin installing windows

when done installing,  reboot and confirm windows boots of the ssd, then power down reconnect the old drive

reboot, enter bios and make sure the ssd is still the boot device (if nessary change boot order and save)

now format the old drive and use as a data drive, or store the old drive as a backup drive your choice and keep the restore usb key somewhere safe!!!!
