Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I have a HP z1 entry tower g5.

I bought a ssd 860 evo, but the power cable from the hp pc's psu won't fit. Only the sata cable. And does it matter which sata cable I use? What are my options?

Ty in advance

Christian

Hi @DemCrispy

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I preface my response by stating I am not familiar with your HP PC.

SATA power cables are usually based on industry specs. The SATA power connector is keyed to only fit in one direction.

So, I don't know what is happening with your PC's SATA power connector.

Any SATA data port on your PC's MB should should provide SATA 3.0 to the SATA drive.

Regards
