I have a lot of documents, pdf books and pics I want to put on additional storage in my new HP pc.

I wish to upgrade the memory storage space. I see there are 2 M.2 slots for expansion but I would like details how to install the correct storage memory in the correct slots. (eg, the right length and key etc).

I really would like to speak face to face with someone in Sydney about this. Can someone please reply to me directly at my email below. Thanks. 🙂

@Intrepidman,

First of all, your mixing definitions. Storage is not memory.

RAM is memory, and it is not saved.  RAM is defined here.

Expansion slots

  • One PCIe x16 socket (for discrete graphics card)
  • One PCIe x1 socket
  • One M.2 socket 1, key A
  • Two M.2 socket 3, key M (one for SSD card PCIe x4)

According to the specs, it has a 512GB NVMe PCIEx4 SSD. The other socket 3, Key M is not defined. An educated guess would be that socket is for a 16/32GB Optane card.  Stay away from that socket.

No one has ever seen that Milton motherboard. I did find a page that listed SATA 3.5" 1TB hard drive, so it must have some SATA data headers.  Install either a 3.5" or 2.5" (adapter tray needed) hard drive. Ideal for storage,  2TB to 4TB. Re-assign your folders (but not the download folder) to the new storage hard drive.

Your computer uses unique cabling to power the motherboard, DVD drive, and the 2 allowed hard drives.

PS<> You will have to endure the hardship of asking about in Sydney for help yourself by googling "sydney au computer clubs". There are several for seniors.  IMHO, more gentle.

The OP sent me a PM saying he took the advice, and successfully installed a 2TB hard drive.
