How can I change OS drive to M.2 NVME . The computer is a HPE Pavilion Elite HPE-480t, the only thing I can find is to add a PCIe card and mount the M.2 drive on the card. Will this work properly and will it be significantly better then the HDD?

I decided to make some comparisons with some HDD & SSD drives on my desktop. Results are displayed in the attached image.
Thanks for your information.

Your existing system is circa 09/2010. The SATA ports are 3Gb/sec.
What PCIEx port. The PCIEx4 version 2.0 should give you 8-10Gb/sec.
