Wanting to add to not replace the hard drive. It came with a 2TB HD and I want to add a PCIe SSD drive. All the videos I've found show replacement. Anything I need to look for to ensure configuration and compatibility.

According to the Crucial memory/SSD report for your model, it supports SATA M.2 SSD's , not NVMe.

Sorry I was late to the issue, I was detailing a response. @Paul_Tikkanen is correct.....SATA not NVMe.
Could not find a video of your unit (You could have send that along) on your HP 27-R114
Here is n HP 27-r119 disassembly procedure. It shows the location of the M.2 SATA slot.
