I have (2) drives installed.  I see an unused data plug (labeled P6) but I do not see a poser able available.  It looks like the system maxes out at (2).  Do I need to get a 'y' adapter (does it even exist?)?

Excellent links. Hope this helps.

@Emauss,

There are 2 SATA data headers, the orange being that last available. The other 3 are occupied by the DVD, and 2 hard drives.  The 15 pin plug on the hard drive is power. Follow that cable . Do you find an unused plug?   What you need:

1)  if no unused power plug, SATA power splitters are available.

2)  SATA data cable (like the existing 7 pin on a hard drive.

3) 4 Fillister head screws. These allow the drive to slide into the latching mechanism. Look at the existing screws.

Here is a picture

The bottom HD has the 3rd power plug "off" the drive. Note the cutout in the frame of the drive bay. That is how those Fillister head screws fit into the mounting rail.  If you have a Fastenal store near you, that is where I got some.

Hello
if we look at the manual here, there would be three locations, good news if the case for another hard drive!

 Upgrading and Servicing Guide

 Hard Drive Replacement Instructions

We also see several SAta ports on the motherboard, so check if the Disk will be delivered with a cable, otherwise it will take one!

Thimphu motherboard specifications.
I suppose you are talking about the SATA power cable, if there is none available, indeed you will have to look for a power cable in there!
Check all the same sometimes they have a small plastic cover, and are well hidden, hanging in the case!

There are (2) SATA power cables connected to the  motherboard.  I do not see another one, but I see what might be another power socket on the motherboard just below the other two, but it is a different color (orange).  Not sure if it is good to use this socket.

Also do I need any specific mounting hardware for a new disk?

sorry @Emauss  i had other occupations ..
I hope you find the answer from @wb2001  helpful.
Indeed, on the motherboard it is not the cables to power the hard drive, it is used for data transfers: hard drive, sata cable, motherboard ..
The power cable connects him from the power supply to the hard drive directly!
