This memory vendor does indicate that the PC will support 4 x 2 GB of DDR2-5300 memory:

2 GB DDR2 memory chips are pretty expensive at €16.90 each.

The 800 MHz memory will automatically bridge to 667 MHz if that is as fast as your PC's processor can run the memory at.

Maybe you can buy two chips and keep two of the 1 GB chips installed and if the PC works fine with 6 GB of memory then you can buy the other two chips.

You install the memory in alternating slots: 2 GB + 1GB + 2 GB+ 1 GB.
