Hi @LakshmiNarayan3,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To improve the performance of your 2018 HP All-In-One PC with an Intel Pentium Silver processor, here are some possible upgrade options.

Upgrade RAM (Memory)

  • Check current RAM: Most systems come with 4GB or 8GB of RAM, which may not be enough for modern tasks. Upgrading to 8GB or 16GB can significantly improve multitasking and overall performance.
  • How to upgrade: Check the maximum RAM capacity supported by your All-In-One PC in its specifications, and consider adding more RAM if possible.

Upgrade to an SSD (Solid-State Drive)

  • Why upgrade: If your PC uses a traditional HDD, upgrading to an SSD will result in faster boot times, quicker program loading, and overall system responsiveness.
  • How to upgrade: You can replace your existing hard drive with an SSD or add an SSD if your All-In-One PC has an additional slot. You'll need to clone your current drive or perform a fresh installation of Windows.

Clean Up Software

  • Remove bloatware: Unnecessary pre-installed software can slow down your system. Removing these can free up system resources.
  • Update drivers: Make sure all drivers are up to date, including the graphics driver, to ensure smooth performance.
  • Use performance-boosting tools: Tools like disk cleanup, defragmentation (for HDD), or system optimization tools can help in boosting performance without hardware upgrades.

Operating System Reinstallation

  • Fresh Install: Sometimes a fresh installation of Windows can help, as it removes unnecessary background programs and gives your system a clean start.

Upgrade Processor (Limited)

  • Note: The Pentium Silver processor in an All-In-One PC is often soldered to the motherboard, meaning upgrading the CPU may not be possible. However, upgrading RAM and storage will still offer a significant performance boost.

Next Steps:

  1. Check specs: Confirm the maximum supported RAM and storage options for your PC model.
  2. Consider professional help: If you're not comfortable opening your All-In-One PC, consider seeking assistance from a technician.

These steps can extend the life and improve the performance of your current system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
