Hello,
I'm planning to upgrade the workstation for gaming purposes and I have one doubt: is SLI capability limited to quadro cards? I've read somewhere it is due to license limitations, foisted upon HP by nvidia. If it is the case, can I pair ANY quadro card I choose?
If it is necessary, here are the specs of my machine:
- OS: arch linux
- CPU: 2 x opteron 2222
- PSU: 1050 W
- Motherboard: HP 0A1Ch (ver. E; I don't know what it means - I'm not too tech-savvy :))
- BIOS: 786D6 v 04.03 12/10/2009
If any other information is needed, I'll happily provide it.
Thank you for you attention
Yours, Piotrek

HP (not nvidia) decided to only license SLI for SELECT quadro models (not all quadros) and the approved list changes for each workstation model you would also require a sec cpu for this
look at the xw9400 "quickspecs" to see the cards that will work in sli on your model

this is not really a good gaming system it only has pci-e 1.0 (not 3.0)
