HP Pavilion 590-p0050 (with Optane)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1. Are any special procedures required to upgrade my HP Pavilion 590-p0050 (with Optane) HDD to SSD

and

2. Before I open this case, is there for sure a vacant DIMM socket as system report shows?

Thanks for your attention, JimK

Its specs

A1. Yes, you have to disable Optane first using

            https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000024626/memory-and-storage.html

After swapping HDD and SSD, you can enable it again

But why not replace Optane with larger M.2 NVMe SSD then move Windows and Applications to it and keep ols HDD for storage. This is a much better option,  no need to use Optane

A2. Its specs (above) does not say much (8GB is on 1 slot or 2 slots (2x4GB)). I believe it is on one slot BUT you can use a tool called CPU-Z to find out. It is much easier to open the case and find out (you have to open the case anyway).

Regards.
