Hey there,
I've been thinking of buying a new GPU for my HP z800.
I want to squeeze a few more years out of this PC, my father lent me it as he has no use for it.
I would like to repurpose it for gaming.
Before spending a lot of money on a video card, I want to check-in and see whether my Power Supply Unit is capable of running a "medium-high end" graphics card.
I will be using these adapters:
Now, I've heard people having issues with the ancient PSU in this unit, even though it has an 1100 WATT power supply.
I'm asking this question because I have seen a lot of posts (not on these forums) about everything burning up because of the 2 molex to one 8 pin power connectors.
EDIT- I'm using 2 Xeon x5670s, ask if pictures/PSU/Inside PC photos are needed.
Thanks,
-James
