Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

Today I noticed a sort of 'heat or warm' smell from the PC. Not burning - but a sort of heat smell. Anyhow I felt the top and it was warm - not really hot but warm. I dont know if it is always warm or not. So I started to wonder if the fan was working - it is always very quite, so I checked the back and there are two fans. One at the top-the other at the bottom. The top one started to spin as soon as the PC was turned on - the one at the bottom did not move.

So is it supposed to work?

Thanks.

Oh and before you ask - there was no sign of dust - I didnt remove the case - but the PC is only 8 months old.

I reviewed your post and I understand that one of the fans is not working on your computer and the computer is overheating.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Done all that.

So to be clear - there are two fans at the rear - and they are both supposed to work?

Yes, it is supposed to work. Can you check whether the fan is connected to the motherboard?

Cheers!

No - as that would involve removing the cover. If you are saying the computer is faulty - as the fan does not work, than I will take it to Currys. I wanted to make sure it does not just come on if it gets too hot, as the other fan does work.

For your info for the future - where a computer is bought from Currys in the Uk - HP do not support it. You have to go back to Currys. As I have found out. But thanks anyhow.
