I understand you are getting a BIOS failure issue on your HP Laptop 15s-fr2006TU can be concerning.
Here are the steps you can take to try and resolve it:
Basic Troubleshooting Steps
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.).
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try to turn on the laptop.
Reset BIOS to Default Settings:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens.
- Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Exit" tab.
- Select "Load Setup Defaults" and press Enter.
- Select "Save Changes and Exit" and press Enter.
Advanced Troubleshooting Steps
Update or Reinstall the BIOS:
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads website.
- Enter your laptop's model number (15s-fr2006TU) and look for BIOS updates.
- Download the latest BIOS update and follow the instructions to install it.
Recover the BIOS:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Plug the laptop into a power source.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but continue to hold the Windows + B keys until the BIOS update screen appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the BIOS recovery process.
Clear the CMOS:
- If you are comfortable opening your laptop, you can try clearing the CMOS. This typically involves removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinserting it. Refer to the service manual for your laptop model for specific instructions.
