Assuming the drive is still OK, then what process are you using and what software.  Writing a DVD/BluRay disk requires software to address the task.

Please explain, in detail, the process being used and the software.

If you are wishing to burn a playable DVD/BluRay movie, it also needs to authored to be compliant with the standards so a player will recognize the content.
