Broken SATA connector

The SATA connector on my motherboard is partially broken. One of the legs on the white collar broke off. I can still slip the cable in and partially attach the collar, and everything works but it’s not too secure. Is there anywhere I can get that piece without buying a whole new motherboard?

you may be able to find a connector, but would you be able to remove the old one, and re-solder the new one!
It is micro-soldering, whether it is by unsoldering the old one, or by soldering the new one, you risk screwing everything up.
Instead, see a specialist if possible

Thanks for the reply, but it’s not the actual connector soldered into the board, but the little collar that clips into it to hold the ribbon cable in by friction. There are two little legs that clip into the connector. One of those legs is broken, so the other leg partially still clips in but only partially applies enough  friction to keep the ribbon cable in place. I applied some adhesive tape to the ribbon cable and that helps but is not a long-term solution because of the heat inside the case. Would it be possible just to get the name/type of connector so I could order one? I can’t find a similar connector just googling. The connector clip is easily installable without specialized tools, so it’s an easy repair if I just had one.

Otherwise, you would have to look for a special glue so that the cable can no longer move !!

I think gluing may be the best solution at this point.

most local computer repair shop's that do onsite repair can replace the locking white tab (or the whole connector) usually this is a 20/30 dollar job

no, also keep in mind this connector on your system appears to be 6 pins for sata data and 5 pins on other side for power

what i would do is insert the cable press the locking tab down and then use a hot glue on the side that the leg is missing to secure it making sure not to get the hot glue on the ribbon cable or where the cable slides in, you only want the glue on the edge of the tab so using transparent tape to cover those areas might be a good idea
