I have an HP df0015nw. I had an 8gb RAM in there in one of the slots. I bought another to match and put it in the second slot. I paid someone to do it. That is ALL I've done - no driver updates or anything else.
I then tested out the difference it made to a game and it gave me better resolution without lag. I was ecstatic. However, after about 4 minutes BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ and freeze. Never happened before.
Oh dear.
I shut down the computer and had another go, and it didn't do it again, but I did a bit of research and believe it may have been a race condition.
Perhaps this is common after a RAM upgrade and the computer will have adjusted itself somehow so as to not get locked up again.
If anyone can advise that'd be great.
Level of expertise, novice, but not daft.

[edit] @Prométhée you beat me to this by seconds again!
This sound like a video problem / bug. Google the game name and the symptom.
You can also run a memory test. The app memtest86 must be booted into as it tests each core of the cpu in addtion to memory.
I usually burn a CD and using a USB DVD to boot but it can easily go into flash drive
Rufus is a quality app that can create a bootable flash for both UEFI and Legacy bios.
What is the game?

Hello
[start]This is an automatic response
in order to avoid writing the same thing each time
Some elements may therefore not apply to you
To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information
we need the exact model of your computer, and the product number
To find it follow this
for a desktop computer
HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? | HP® Customer Support
and for a laptop
HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Product Name or Number? | HP® Customer Support
Give the full name with the product number P / N
HP Desktop M01-F1xxx
the requested product number must look like this
Product Number: 9EE50AA # ABA
the model corresponding to this number will therefore be
HP Desktop - M01-F1033wb
Give the full version of windows
for windows 10 type winver in the search box
if you give the best information
your problem could have a solution more quickly (depending on the difficulty, of course)

ok, so finally you didn't answer for the purchased module?
Do you understand that the problem continues?
if yes, then do the test with just the new module alone
incomplete computer reference, it sends me to this,
HP All-in-One - 24-df0015nw
8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) |
- Dual channel memory architecture
- Two DDR4 SODIMM (260-pin) sockets
- Supports up to PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)
- Supports 2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB DDR4 SODIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory. - Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) with two 8 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems
so,
same computer, same user, so ultimately it doesn't work that well?

As @Prométhée wrote, you should test each 8gb memory stick separately. In addition you should use memtest86. If I understand your previous post, the buzz and stop occurred when running the windows memory diagnostic. It is possible the failure may be other components or windows corruption. Running memtest86 will confirm the memory problem and the results from that app are frequently required by a vendor when honoring a warrantee.
Did you examine the results of running the Windows Memory Diagnostic? Were there any results?

Indeed, as stated, say whether or not it works with the new module only, you haven't answered my other questions
you can actually try the software indicated, but normally no need, you have the integrated hp and windows tools!
Windows has an integrated memory diagnostic, it must be sufficient, in addition to that of hp..
If you can't even perform a memory test with the available tools, there's a problem anyway!
Most often when adding a module, we find ourselves with an incompatibility between different modules!
