CD disc

I inserted a CD in the CD drive. When I didn't hear the drive run I opened the drive.  The drive opened with no CD mounted - 1 CD inside the machine.

Any suggestions of how to extract the CD?  I am very new on this computer and have some tech savvy, but not on an all-in-one.  Can be opened to remove the disk?  Will the disk cause any problems with computer operation?

A piece of 2-sided tape mounted on the drive and hope the disk adheres to it?

Found a solution.

Open the drive and tip the computer on its side, the disc falls out.

Now can somebody design a vertical mounted CD that will retain a disk?
