How do I remove a CD stuck inside?  I have tried turning off, unplugging, tilting and shaking, to allow gravity to remove it.  No luck.  Warranty is out.  Can I do this at home?

Kindly look at the rear of your PC to find the product number.

HP 65 all in one does not allow me to have even a clue on the hardware configuration of your PC.

Gravity won't do it.
I'm not familiar with your specific model, but I guess it's fitted with a "slot load" drive?
If that's the case, the mechanism is split in two. One mechanism is the motor that spins the CD, the other one is the feeding mechanism that brings the CD in and out of the CD-drive. Are there physical buttons on the All-in-one to eject the CD or do you have to do it from Windows (right click drive -eject)?

Either way, press the button/click eject and listen for sounds. Do you hear mechanism #1 releasing the disc? Do you here the feed mechanism?

Are there any lights?
If so, are they flashing when you restart your computer?
Does the CD rev up on restart?
Can you still play the CD?

If you don't get any mechanical sounds or flashing lights when you try to eject or if the CD can't be played, I'm afraid your CD-drive is A: dead or B: disconnected somehow (not likely).

Depending on how customer friendly the designer of your All-in-one was, you might be able to access the CD-drive to switch it for a replacement if it comes to that. If you have to get somone else to do it for you, hope for easy acces from the backside. If the screen needs to come out it tends to get expensive even if the parts are cheap.

If you want to keep your computer running on a budget, there are inexpensice USB CD/DVD-drives to connect if it comes to that.

I hope you can get it fixed!
Good luck!

Thank You!  It opens and closes as if nothing is in there.  It does not make any sound.  Truly, you would never know there was a CD stuck inside.  However, I want to insert another CD, I need to do my taxes, and I dont think ADDING another CD into the situation would be ok?

Ah, so it's a "tray loaded" drive?
In that case, there's probably a little hole on the front face of the tray where you can stick a paper clip (or something similar) to release the opening mechanism. Not sure if it will release your CD, though...
Once the tray is open, try and see if you can see if the CD is stuck sideways somehow.

After a quick google-search, it seems the components of your All-in-one are upgradable, so getting in to it from the back to switch the drive is only a matter of unscrewing the screws and locating the optical drive. You'll need a bit of courage as well if it's your first time. But the taxes has to be done, right?!

Thanks for identifying your all in one HP  desktop PC.

It is an HP All-in-One - 24-g014 (Touch) (ENERGY STAR) model.

From what I see in the media for your  all-in-one PC , Your optical drive has a disk force-eject hole.

This should be done with power off for safety.

You can use something on the order of a paper clip or a long needle to eject the disk.  Unfold the paper clip and put the end in the hole and press inward.

Optical disks with trays have a very similar mechanism.
