Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion TG01-1442no with an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G and BIOS version F.21 (dated 17-09-2021).
I’m considering upgrading the CPU and would like to know which processors are officially supported by the motherboard/BIOS.

Specifically, can the system run a Ryzen 7 3700X, or am I limited to the “G”-series like 4700G / 5700G?
If newer BIOS versions add support for Ryzen 5000 CPUs, could you please let me know which update I’d need?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi:

According to the information I could find online, your PC comes with a HP 'Erica3' motherboard with a BIOS SSID of 87D6.

Below is the link to the motherboard specs.

The only processors supported are the 3 listed under the Processor upgrade section.

A BIOS update will not add support for other processors.

Below is the link to the latest BIOS update HP has for PC's with the 87D6 motherboard SSID (F.47):

If your PC is working fine, I don't recommend updating the BIOS, but of course, that is your decision.
