HP ENVY Desktop - 750-116
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I own an HP Envy 750-116. I want to install a PCI-e type 1 GB Barracuda solid state drive that uses NVME technology/drivers. It appears the Orchid motherboard has the right size socket. Can the Envy run this solid state drive?

hi

sorry, I don't see here which connector you are referring to
motherboard does not have m2 ssd port

are you talking about an ssd with a pci e 1x adapter?
It would be better to use a Sata type ssd ..

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-750-100-desktop-pc-series/8499646/model/8629544/documen...

Orchid3 motherboard specifications.

  • One PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0)
  • One PCI Express x1 (Gen 2.0)
  • Half-length mini card with WLAN header

After I posted my request, it dawned on me that the SSD I was thinking of buying is only about 3/4 inch wide by 3.5 inches tall, The PCI sockets on the Orchid motherboard are way too large. I agree, going the SATA route makes more sense. Thanks for the response!!
