HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Do I have to fill all of the 4 ram slots in my HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF or can I just add 2 ram sticks? I am a beginner to this. Thanks!

Hi:

It depends on what you want to do.

If you have two memory modules that are the same spec, say 2 x 8 GB, then you put the first one in the slot closest to the processor and the other one in the third slot.

In other words...

8 GB - empty - 8 GB - empty.

You're very welcome.

The service manual provides the guidance on how to install memory...see chapter 8, pages 170 -171.
