I was looking at buying an hp z240 and then upgrading the psu from 280w to 400w using an hp 400w psu. Is it possible to do this?

if you have the 280 watt you have the Tower model then you can use the 400 watt.

You would need a different PC case and an HP ATX Power adapter to do it right.
The original case is lacking in space to do the PSU upgrade properly.
